Clinics / Workshops

The Jack Brass Band has been contracted to share our knowledge and mastery of New Orleans jazz with schools, community organizations and groups looking to learn about brass bands.

 

For younger audiences, we talk about music and emotion, about loud and soft, about teamwork (instruments playing different roles in the group), about listenting to each other and responding - as well as talk about the types of instruments we play.

 

For older audiences, we teach them about the history of brass bands,  improvisation, offer advise and help them learn about the music and themselves, and how the music evolves over time.  We've even performed WITH bands after working with them during the day.
