Bio
I started playing Brass Band Music when I was in High School. I thank my Mom and Max for exposing me to this music. Because of my Mom, I’ve been at Dirty Dozen shows throughout the Midwest, including bar shows, since I turned 16. I’m originally a saxophone player, and attended the University of Minnesota (Marching Band and Jazz Ensemble). In 2002, I made the switch to bass drum. Musical highlights include sitting in with the Dirty Dozen at many a venue (including New Orleans during JazzFest), playing First Avenue as the opener for Buckwheat Zydeco, Jazz Winnipeg Festival, co-billing with Rebirth Brass Band at the Cabooze, and having the JBB play in NOLA @ Le Bon Temps Roulle.
